On May 15, 2025, New Era Cold Storage (NECS) had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation of International Economics students from Ton Duc Thang University to our smart cold storage facility in Ho Chi Minh City. The visit was part of NECS’s ongoing efforts to connect academic learning with real-world logistics operations, particularly in the rapidly evolving cold chain sector.

Bringing Logistics to Life Through Real-World Exposure

As Vietnam’s food supply chains grow more complex and technology-driven, providing the next generation of talent with hands-on exposure is more critical than ever. During their visit, the students were introduced to NECS’s scale of operations and infrastructure — including our deep-freeze storage areas at -20°C, advanced traceability systems, and integrated handling procedures.

The highlight of the tour was seeing the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) robot in action — a fully automated solution designed to optimize storage density, increase accuracy, and enhance cold chain efficiency. For many students, this was their first time witnessing such advanced logistics technology outside of classroom theory or textbooks.

A Dynamic Learning Environment Full of Curiosity and Engagement

Throughout the visit, the students showed great enthusiasm, actively engaging with NECS staff and raising insightful questions on topics such as inventory control, warehouse automation, cold chain logistics challenges, and the career landscape in the industry.

One student shared: “We’ve studied cold logistics as part of our curriculum, but actually standing inside a -20°C cold room and watching the ASRS robot in operation was a completely different experience. It made everything we’ve learned feel more tangible.”

By opening our doors to future professionals, NECS aims to support the development of talent who not only understand the theories of global trade and supply chain management but also have real insights into how modern cold logistics works in practice.
